A data broker opt-out checklist you can reuse

Use this when your address or phone keeps showing up after you thought you were done.

Build the inventory first

Search your full name plus city, then your phone and address, on the major people-search sites. Save URLs and dates in a simple sheet before you start filing.

Use each site’s own process

Do not reuse one email template for every broker. Follow the opt-out link or form that site publishes, and keep a copy of what you sent.

Calendar the re-check

Put a reminder 60 to 90 days out. If the listing returned, file again and note which sites are chronic republishers.

Separate public records from brokers

County property and court sites are different from Spokeo-style brokers. You usually cannot wipe the official source; you can still clear the commercial copies.

This guide is general information, not legal advice. Platform and search engine policies change; links go to each one’s own page.
